Lychee Bunny (EASTER EXTRAVAGANZA!!!🐰🐣🌷💛)

£5.50pp (Lychee tin, Pineapple juice, Coconut cream, Vodka)
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/10
Lychee is an interesting fruit because no one really cares that it’s here on this earth, but somehow this cocktail accentuates the delicate nature of it, making it taste like a rustic mirror but also, a petal. This gay slushie tastes as if lychee made it to the finale on Drag Race somehow, having flown under the radar the whole way, and is now having to go head to head with banana - the wallflower drag queen. Banana will probably win because banana takes everything, but the fact that such a plain queen made it so far makes everyone second-guess things, and I think everyone should be thinking a lot more these days. I don’t relate to this drink’s simplicity because I’m one in a million, but I can appreciate beauty when it reveals itself.
The TikTok recipe I found had the audio taken away which made it feel like one of those silent films that you have to pretend to interpret. I didn’t mind though as I didn’t need the buff moustache man with massive biceps to say anything for me to listen. I felt so excited by his presentation that I donned my Nesquick bunny ears like batman coming back from retirement one last time. I may have gone to the club in a piss-yellow football shirt, but it was worth the attention. I felt like my childhood self again who used to try convince anyone in an ear’s width away that I turned into a rabbit in the night after everyone went to bed, and who got under the table in front of his entire year 3 class because a fox was displayed on the big screen and I was attention seeking after my parent’s divorce. If looking like a furry for one night lets you feel like the freak you used to be, I say let it.
This drink would let you do anything for the small price of experiencing mind-altering brain freeze that gets you so angry you cut your finger in half. It’s easy, light, simple and feels like renewal when you need it the most. Now I know why Easter is a thing; It’s to have a freak day to wake yourself up from the ceaseless months after Christmas that don’t even warrant a name because they are so dull. However, like this drink, you can make something you never saw as worth it into something beautiful and healing - it’s just what you choose to add.
